Lincoln High basketball standout Tyree Robinson is sidelined with a broken foot.
The Hornets, ranked No. 1 in the most recent San Diego Section boys basketball poll, expect Robinson to missed six to eight weeks, said coach Jason Bryant.
“But we hope to have him back in time for the section playoffs,” Bryant said. “It makes the road just that much tougher now.”
Robinson landed on a teammate’s foot in practice and rebroke the foot that caused him to miss a third of the football season for Lincoln, which won the section Division III title.
Robinson and twin brother Tyrell have accepted scholarship offers to Oregon, where they hope to play basketball and football.
Western League play begins in less than two weeks for Lincoln, with games against St. Augustine and Cathedral Catholic on the schedule. Tyree averaged about 20 points a game last season for the Hornets.
