The three-sport standout threw a four-hit shutout April 2 to lead the Rams to a 1-0 victory over Corona in an Anaheim Lions tournament game. Chambers held the Corona lineup to four hits while striking out one and walking one in seven innings of work.

Murrieta Valley | Boys track

Chapman broke Richard Leverson's Valley and Riverside County records in the pole vault Saturday night in Arcadia with a vault of 16-6 1/2. That bested the previous mark of 16-0 and set the bar for the top mark in the state.

Linfield Christian | Baseball

He did it all for the Lions at the San Diego Lions Tournament. He tossed seven shutout innings in the 2A Division championship and collected five hits, including three doubles, during a doubleheader on the final day. On Wednesday, he homered in a 7-6 win over Malibu.

The freshman ran the opening leg of the Wolfpack's 400-relay team Saturday night at the Arcadia Invitational that wound up setting a Valley record with a time of 41.83. Fisher also recorded a long jump of 21 feet, 2 /12 inches during the day session at Arcadia to finish third in that event.

Gonzales had the type of day everyone dreams of on Wednesday. Gonzales hit two home runs, the second of which was a walkoff, two-run homer that lifted the Wolfpack to a 7-6 victory over Fullerton at the Anaheim Lions tournament. Great Oak improved to 12-3 with the win.

She fanned 14 and didn't walk a batter in sending the Warriors to a 14-2 victory Thursday over Loma Linda Academy in Ambassador League action. Teammates Taylor Donoho and Tabitha Howell each homered in the win.

The senior paced the Tigers to a wild victory Wednesday afternoon, as he went 4-for-5 with four RBIs, a home run, and a game-winning, run-scoring single in extra innings as the Tigers edged San Jacinto, 10-9, to win the Tahquitz Titan Classic in nine innings. Herring also collected three hits in an 8-3 win over Tahquitz in pool play.

The junior improved her own Valley record in the 300 hurdles at Saturday's Arcadia Invitational, running the event in 42.84 seconds.

His 3-under-par 33 at The Farms in Rancho Santa Fe carried Great Oak to a season-best 184-209 win over Cathedral Catholic. Teammates Simon Namgoong and Jose Pelayo each shot even 36s in the round.

Breanna Standifer

Elsinore | Girls track

Standifer won both the shotput (37 feet, 8 inches) and discus (109-3) as Elsinore downed Temescal Canyon, 103-24, in a dual meet Thursday. Elsinore improved to 2-0 in league and 5-2 overall with the win. On Saturday at Arcadia, Standifer also turned in a mark of 38-9.
