State honors from Cal-Hi Sports

Torrey Pines' Nasland, Mira Mesa's Mauga named first-team All-State.


Katiyana Mauga finished her career at Mira Mesa with 41 home runs, tied for most all-time in the San Diego Section.

Pitcher Rachel Nasland (Torrey Pines) and slugger Katiyana Mauga (Mira Mesa) were named first-team All-State by Cal-Hi Sports.

Nasland was 19-7 with a 0.66 ERA, striking out 307 and walking 28 in 180?1/3 innings in leading Torrey Pines to the San Diego Section Division I title.

Mauga finished her career with 41 home runs, tied for first in section history. She also had 184 career hits, 176 RBIs and 154 runs. Mauga is headed to Arizona and Nasland to Notre Dame.

Pitchers Delanie Gourley (El Capitan) and Sara White (Rancho Bernardo) and outfielder Hannah Flippen (Bonita Vista) were named to Cal-Hi’s second team.

Pitchers Christina Clermont (San Marcos) and Shelley Procter (Carlsbad), catcher Sashel Palacios (Otay Ranch) and outfielders Elontay Collins (Serra) and Madison Labshere (Valhalla) were named third-team All-State by CalHi.

Gourley and catcher Kayti Grable (Santana) were Cal-Hi Medium School first-teamers, while Tierra Falo (Cathedral Catholic) and Stephanie Koishor (Valley Center) were second-team picks.

Jackie Buechler (Francis Parker) was a Small School first-team selection. Carlee Wallace (Francis Parker) and Christine Campbell (La Jolla Country Day) were second-team picks.

Freshman Aaliyah Jordan (Bonita Vista) was a second-team All-Underclass selection.
