Key players, scouting report, facts & figures

Last year: 8-2

Coach: Allen Heck, 3rd year

League: Imperial Valley

Division: III

Key players: Diego Moreno (QB), Alberto Valdez (RB-LB), Marco Coronel (DE-TE), Anthony Cortez (QB-CB), Andre Zazueta (OL-DL), Claudio Magana (OT-DT), Steven Parra (TE-CB), Cruz Jimenez (OLB-RB), Aaron Patton (FB-OLB-MLB), Joel De La Torre (WR).

Scouting report: Moreno, who passed for 982 yards and 10 touchdowns a year ago, will lead the charge. His targets include Parra, Coronel and De La Torre. Wide receiver-running back Aaron Fernandez also figures in the attack, as does fullback Miguel Vizcarra. The Bulldogs will have players playing more than one position. Case in point is Patton, who will play fullback, outside linebacker and middle linebacker. Alfonso Gonzalez will split his time between cornerback and running back. Traditionally a running team, the Bulldogs will have plenty of balance. Not to be overlooked are running back-outside linebacker Gilbert Gastelum and outside linebacker-running back Nathan Herrera. Calexico is not short of linemen, led by Magana (6-2, 309) and Zazueta.
