Longhorns prove they're the best football team in town.

— Though it wasn’t even his most productive football game at Rancho Buena Vista High, Chad Woolsey picked a great night to show off who is the best team in town.

Woolsey, a senior running back, carried 26 times for 186 yards and four touchdowns as the Longhorns posted a 35-3 nonleague victory over rival Vista on Friday night.

“I had five touchdowns against them freshman year,” said Woolsey. “This feels really good coming off our bye week.

“We did what we wanted to do. We wanted to beat them this bad.”

Thanks to 21 points via special teams miscues, RBV (4-2) ended a two-game losing streak.

Three of Woolsey’s touchdowns came after those mistakes.

“If a team is going to give us 21 points that way, we’re more than happy to take them,” Woolsey said.

Woolsey had three first-half touchdowns, two of which came after bad snaps on fourth down put the Longhorns in business deep in Vista (1-5) territory.

The first touchdown, on a 3-yard run, came after a 3-yard punt. The third TD came on a 16-yard run following an 11-yard loss on a bad snap.

Woolsey’s other TD came on a 1-yard run in the first quarter as the Longhorns built a 21-0 halftime lead and never looked back.
