No. 1 Granite Hills (25-6) vs. No. 3 Rancho Buena Vista (21-10)

When: Friday, 8:07 p.m.

TV: 4 San Diego and Time Warner 890.

Radio: 1700-AM.

Outlook: Granite Hills, which lost last year’s finals to San Diego 64-44 in their first trip to the title game, eased into the finals with a 46-39 win over Mission Hills in the semifinals. Skylar Williams led the Eagles with a 30-point performance. ... Rancho Buena Vista stunned Poway 65-55 in Poway’s gym to gain their first title appearance since 1998 when the Longhorns won it all. Senior G Jenny Dee scored 26 points in the win over Poway, RBV’s sixth straight triumph. In common foes, Granite Hills lost to La Costa Canyon 62-61 in the Matador Classic and RBV was beaten 75-54 and 78-46 by LCC.


No. 1 Serra (24-6) vs. No. 3 La Costa Canyon (29-2)

When: Friday, 6:07 p.m.

TV: 4 San Diego and Time Warner 890.

Radio: 1700-AM.

Outlook: Serra won last year’s crown, beating West Hills 50-47 in the finals, and the Conquistadors bounced West Hills 67-59 in the semifinals for their 10th straight win. La Costa Canyon, which won Division I crowns in 2009 and ’11, owns a 21-game winning streak since a 59-48 loss to Serra in the Kiwanis Tournament finals Dec. 22. Tylinn Carter and Tiarra Griffis led the way with 19 and 15 points, respectively. They each average 14 points and 12 rebounds a game. ... The Mavs rely on the trio of G Taylor Pierce (15.3 average), PG Esther Wofford (14.8) and 6-foot-5 C Savannah Irwin (15.8 points and 9.4 rebounds). Pierce had 16 and Wofford 14 against Serra, but Irwin had just two points.


No. 1 Cathedral Catholic (18-9) vs. No. 2 Our Lady of Peace (22-8)

When: Saturday, 1:07 p.m.

TV: 4 San Diego and Time Warner 890.

Radio: 1700-AM.

Outlook: Both teams lost in the semifinals in 2012. Cathedral Catholic’s last title came in 2008. Our Lady of Peace’s last crown came in 1992. ... Cathedral Catholic, which beat Mission Bay 76-56 in the semifinals, has a five-game winning streak while OLP’s winning streak is at 11. ... The Dons have won two of the three meetings with OLP, winning 72-58 in the SoCal Holiday Classic and at home 59-49 and losing at OLP 55-44. C Wendy Anae averages 13.8 points and 10 rebounds for the Dons, along with PG Juliet Jones, who averages 9.1 points and 5.2 assists. ... Kirsten Johnson, a 6-3 junior center, averages 17.7 points and 13 rebounds for the Pilots, who edged Monte Vista 63-60 in the semis.


No. 1 La Jolla Country Day (21-11) vs. No. 3 Bishop’s (19-11)

When: Friday, 3:07 p.m.

TV: Time Warner Cable Sports Net.

Radio: 1700-AM.

Outlook: La Jolla Country Day, the defending state champion, has owned the last decade, winning nine section titles. The one time the Torreys missed was in 2009 when Bishop’s won it all. ... PG Kelsey Plum leads LJCD with a 27.4 scoring average. She also grabs 7.8 rebounds and hands out three assists a game in addition to hitting 131 3-pointers and shooting 84 percent from the line. ... Bishop’s, which has lost twice to LJCD by scores of 72-66 and 62-45, is led by junior C Imani Littleton (21.7 points, 10.2 rebounds) and senior F Devon Roeper (17.5 points, 10.6 rebounds).


No. 1 Horizon (22-7) vs. No. 3 Tri-City Christian (22-5)

When: Saturday, 11:07 a.m.

TV: 4 San Diego and Time Warner 890.

Radio: 1700-AM.

Outlook: Horizon, the section champion in 2011, averages 68 points a game behind freshman G Di’Jonai Carrington and junior F Janae Omusi, who both average 19.8 points per game. They have scored 574 and 573 points, respectively. Carrington also grabs 11.9 rebounds and Omusi collected 8.6 rebounds. ... Tri-City Christian, which averages 54.8 points per game, is the division’s defending section champion and is led by senior Alyssa Ramos, who averages 25.8 points. The last loss for Tri-City Christian was Dec. 29 to Ocean View Christian in the Tri-City Christian Tournament.
