Key players, scouting report, facts & figures

Last year: 6-5

Coach: Jerry Ralph, 2nd year

League: City

Division: III

Key players: Damonte Holiday (RB-DB), Miles Nolen-Webb (RB-DB), Dominique Whitfield (WR), Jose Barraza (DL), George Jones (DB, RB), Austin Brown (OL-DL), Israel Ahmed (RB-LB), Shaquille Bradford (OL-DL).

Scouting report: Despite installing a new offense, the Cardinals hurdled several obstacles en route to an unblemished record at the midpoint of last season. Then came a disastrous second leg. It started with a close loss to Morse and followed with consecutive routs against Serra, Patrick Henry and Lincoln. Limping into the playoffs, the Cardinals allowed West Hills to squeeze out a one-point victory. Their best player is Holiday, but Ralph will soon learn if he is enough to compensate for the loss of a three-year starter at quarterback. If the Cardinals can find a solid replacement who can stretch the field with his athleticism, they’ll be in the mix for a second consecutive playoff berth.
