Player to watch: Zach Zacchilli will anchor both of the lines. At 6-feet-2, 255 pounds, he has the bulk to open holes on offense. But he was a second-team all-league pick on defense, proving he has the strength and quickness to get to ball carriers.

At a glance: Patrick Coleman, who coordinated the Oceanside defense for years, takes over as coach. But the Nighthawks return just two starters from a team that was 5-6 last season. Jake Moore takes over at QB and could be a good one. He has some weapons around him in RBs Scott McKirdy and Anthony Ullrich as well as Will Carpenter and D’Angelo Gunter. Anthony Jimenez is an outstanding complement to Zacchilli on the OL. The line, with Zacchilli, Jimenez, Jarrod O’Neill, Sawyer Sullaway and Francisco Gracia-Ruiz, is a team strength.
