OCEANSIDE at MISSION HILLS

Oceanside (4-1), ranked No. 3 in the county, hasn’t lost since an opening-week defeat to Eastside Catholic, the No. 1 team in the state of Washington. The Pirates are led by QBs Robby Beardsley and Max Shuffler. RB Niko Mageo is the go-to back. Oceanside has scored just 111 points while allowing 83. No. 1-ranked Mission Hills (5-0) is led by QBs Dakota Miller and Jack Tuttle. RB Nehemiah McFarlin is among the best in the county. WR-CB Troy Warner is a big-play guy. The Grizzlies have scored 178 points while allowing just 43.

Prediction: Mission Hills 35, Oceanside 21

SANTANA at MONTE VISTA

QB Frankie Gutierrez has thrown for 1,145 yards and 12 TDs for Santana (4-2). WRs Aidan Rasmusson and Adam Childress both have more than 300 yards receiving. The Sultans are coming off a 27-21 loss to Mar Vista. Monte Vista (2-4) has beaten Crawford and Kearny after opening with four losses.

Prediction: Santana 27, Monte Vista 24

VALHALLA at MOUNT MIGUEL

Valhalla (4-1) has won four in a row since an opening-week loss to Otay Ranch. The Norsemen have outscored opponents 150-23 in those four wins. Mount Miguel (3-2) is led by QB Benny Valdez, who has thrown for 826 yards. The Matadors, who are coming off a bye, have 1,694 yards total offense.

Prediction: Valhalla 28, Mount Miguel 21

EASTLAKE vs. BONITA VISTA

Eastlake (2-4) has losses to No. 2 Helix (56-7), No. 4 St. Augustine (46-9) and No. 9 Cathedral Catholic (35-19). The Titans are led by RB Traylon Reed, who has 412 yards. Bonita Vista (3-2) lost to Helix (38-7) last week. The Barons are led by RB Greg Bell, who has 670 yards and nine touchdowns.

Prediction: Eastlake 21, Bonita Vista 20

LCC at EL CAMINO

No. 6 La Costa Canyon (4-1) has won four in a row since an opening-week loss to Desert Vista, the No. 7-ranked team in Arizona. The Mavericks beat No. 8 Rancho Bernardo (27-13) two weeks ago and blanked Vista (13-0) last week. No. 5 El Camino (5-0) beat San Pasqual 41-10 last week. The Wildcats’ John Armentrout has 639 yards on pass receptions, kick returns, punt returns and interception returns.

Prediction: LCC 17, El Camino 14

TORREY PINES at CARLSBAD

Torrey Pines (1-4) has lost four in a row since a win over Steele Canyon. Three of the losses have come to No. 1 Mission Hills, No. 7 Westview and No. 9 Cathedral Catholic. The Falcons have scored just 69 points, but have given up only 106. Carlsbad (2-3) is led by QB Shea Morales (798 passing yards), RB Josiah Villagomez (473 yards rushing) and WR Matt Spiering (11 catches for 307 yards). The Lancers fell to Rancho Bernardo 35-27 last week.

Prediction: Carlsbad 17, Torrey Pines 14

RANCHO BERNARDO at WESTVIEW

No. 8 Rancho Bernardo (4-1) has allowed just 66 points. QB Mark Salazar leads the offense, throwing for 853 yards. No. 7 Westview (5-0) has given up just 47 points. QB Beau Nelson has 895 passing yards and nine TDs. AJ Leonard has 564 rushing yards. TE Ben Ratzlaff has 27 catches for 342 yards.

Prediction: RB 24, Westview 20

CORONADO at UNIVERSITY CITY

Coronado (3-2) had won three in a row before losing to La Jolla two weeks ago. RB Christopher Haas leads the way with 714 yards and nine TDs. University City (4-1) has won three in a row, outscoring those teams 155-28 since a loss to Mission Bay. Quarterback Drake Aguon has thrown for 1,125 yards and 15 TDs while WR Gavin Rasmussen has 32 catches for 651 yards.

Prediction: University City 27, Coronado 14

LA JOLLA at MISSION BAY

La Jolla (3-3) scored a big win over Christian last week 41-19, knocking the Patriots out of the Top 10. The Vikings have 1,576 yards total offense, led by QB Casey Brown. Mission Bay (5-0) has yet to be stressed, outscoring opponents 186-60.

Prediction: Mission Bay 35, La Jolla 24

MATER DEI CATHOLIC at CASTLE PARK

Mater Dei (4-1) has 1,202 yards rushing behind CJ Verdell, who has 845 yards. QB Chris Jones has thrown for 606 yards and eight TDs. The Crusaders, who have a forfeit loss to El Capitan, have scored 143 points in the last three games. Castle Park (3-2) has won two in a row, allowing just six points against Chula Vista and Clairemont. The Trojans are led by QB Angelo Trujillo.

Prediction: Mater Dei 31, Castle Park 17

Last week: 10-0. Season: 47-13.
